Myrella Roy has been the Executive Director of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists (CSHP) since 2003. For much of her career, she worked at the Ottawa Hospital, where she managed the pharmacists and clinical pharmacy services, coordinated the hospital pharmacy residency program, and maintained an active practice in critical care, neurosciences, and the heart failure clinic. Dr Roy has held faculty positions at the Université de Montréal, Université Laval (Québec City), and Claude Bernard University (Lyon, France). In 1999/2000, she served in Albania with the organization Pharmacists without Borders. Dr Roy was the founding president of the Canadian College of Clinical Pharmacy, a chapter of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. She has authored 2 book chapters and more than 50 articles. Dr Roy has been an invited speaker at more than 90 regional, provincial, national, and international meetings. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a diploma in hospital pharmacy from the Université de Montréal, as well as a PharmD degree from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio.
La Dre Myrella Roy est la directrice générale de la Société canadienne des pharmaciens d’hôpitaux depuis 2003. Elle a travaillé la majeure partie de sa carrière à l’Hôpital d’Ottawa où elle a géré les pharmaciens et les services de pharmacie clinique, coordonné le programme de résidence en pharmacie d’hôpital et poursuivi un exercice actif en soins intensifs, en sciences neurologiques et dans une clinique d’insuffisance cardiaque. La Dre Roy a occupé des postes de professeure à l’Université de Montréal, à l’Université Laval à Québec et à l’Université Claude Bernard à Lyon, France. En 1999–2000, elle a œuvré pour Pharmaciens sans frontières en Albanie. La Dre Roy est la présidente fondatrice du Collège canadien de pharmacie clinique, une section de l’American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Elle a signé deux chapitres de livre et plus de 50 articles. La Dre Roy a prononcé des exposés à plus de 90 congrès et colloques régionaux, provinciaux, nationaux et internationaux. Elle a obtenu un baccalauréat en pharmacie et un diplôme en pharmacie d’hôpital de l’Université de Montréal, puis un doctorat en pharmacie de l’Université de Cincinnati en Ohio.
